The new SureFeed range, developed by the award-winning microchip pet door specialist SureFlap, will ensure pets eat from the right bowl and food is kept in top condition.

With its modern design and innovative use of microchip technology the SureFeed is predicted to become a ‘must-have’ item for pet owners. The first two models will be previewed to pet retailers at Interzoo, 29th May – 1st June 2014.

The SureFeed bowls are dishwasher-safe and have been designed with a unique integrated seal. This keeps food fresher for longer and the kitchen free of smells and flies,

whether you are using wet or dry food. The SureFeed range is initially available in two models; the SureFeed Pet Feeder, designed for everyday use in a single pet household, and the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder, a selective pet feeder that opens only when it identifies an authorised pet by its identification microchip or RFID collar tag.

SureFlap founder and inventor of the new SureFeed range, Dr Nick Hill, says this is an exciting new development for the company:

“Many cats are fussy eaters and prefer to eat food when it is fresh, others are on special diets and this can be a problem in multi-pet households. Even in households where each cat is on the same diet, a ‘greedy’ cat, or even dog, can eat most of the food. This can result in one pet becoming overweight while the other not only starts to lose weight, but may also become stressed by the lack of free access to food. The SureFeed product range has been designed to address all these issues.”

For homes with more than one animal the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder will identify the approaching pet by its microchip or collar tag, opening automatically if it is the correct animal. The lid slides back to reveal the food and returns once it has finished feeding. The fold-away lid forms a barrier to the rear of the bowl and side guards shield the food from other pets during feeding.

The feeders are both easy to wipe clean. The food bowl, mat and lid can be removed and are dishwasher-safe.

Dr Hill says: “The SureFeed Pet Feeder and Microchip Pet Feeder are the first in a series of pet feeding products from SureFlap incorporating sealed operation and flexible feeding options and we are looking forward to developing the range in the future.”

SureFeed products will be available to order from mid-2014 and retailers are encouraged to visit SureFlap stand 402 in Hall 9 at Interzoo to see the new products in action.

Additional features of SureFeed
Other features designed around ease-of-use include the simple one-button setup process for the Microchip Pet Feeder and the training mode available on both products to help familiarise the pet with how to use the food bowl.

The battery-powered feeders have an elegant and contemporary design and both single compartment and split compartment bowls are available for use with the feeders.

Additional bowls and mats in three alternative accent colours are available for purchase separately. The different colour options have been chosen to fit into a range of different home interiors and also make it easier to tell each pet’s feeder apart in a multi-pet household.

The SureFeed range has been eagerly anticipated by SureFlap customers, as well as many vets for some time and is an exciting new path for SureFlap.

About SureFlap
SureFlap is a microchip-operated pet product specialist. The company was launched in 2008 with the SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap.

SureFlap now produces a range of microchip-operated pet doors, which recognise a pet’s individual microchip, and will only open for pets whose identity is stored in the memory. They use patented low-power RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology developed in Cambridge (UK) by Dr Nick Hill.

SureFeed is the latest product range to come from SureFlap and consists of two feeding products for cats – the SureFeed Pet Feeder and the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder.

Recommended by vets, SureFlap products are compatible with all common microchips and can be programmed to recognise multiple pets.
